(1996) Edward Wood intended to divide his Bath County holdings between sons James and Francis Marion [R904]. By 1849, when Edward had died and his land holdings were being divided among his children, James Wood had also died [R913]. A record of the inventory and sale of his personal effects follows in the Bath County Will Book immediately after those of his father Edward (WB5-302). His personal property included horses, farm implements, farm produce, and Hannah a negro girl; but no household furnishings, which probably means he lived in his parents’ household.
